Junior High…Middle School…Being 13.

If you’re an adult, just reading those words can send a shiver down your spine. For many of us, junior high was a train wreck in educational, emotional and physical form.  A common response was to simply assume a crash position and wait for high school to arrive. When people find out that I work with junior high-aged students, they often shoot me a sympathetic look and say something schmaltzy like “oh, good for you.”

My response is to challenge the status quo and shift our perspective from just getting through “it” to making the most of this season of life.

At Bellevue Christian School, we don’t tolerate junior high students, we celebrate them!  Junior High students are some of the most teachable, humble and excitable learners around, with an energy and creativity all their own. Part of our job as teachers and administrators is to point all those things in a direction that honors God and blesses others. It is truly a high calling, and one we take very seriously, and joyfully. All too often, school gets reduced to merely a test score or report card. In reality, however; there is much more going on—much of which doesn’t show up in a score or grade. The whole student is important to us, and we make a concerted effort to educate and develop how God has made them--spiritually, academically, emotionally, socially and physically.  

Join us for a Visitation Day when a prospective student teams up with a BCS student to experience a day in the life of BCS junior high.  We also offer tours and schedule Open House events for prospective families to discover more about BCS!
