Open Positions - Certified/Teaching

Secondary Instructional Coach

JH/SH Campus | 2024-25 Academic Year

Salary: Placement on Teacher Salary Schedule – between $50,000 – $79,000 (determined by prior experience and education)

Start Date: Around August 15, 2024

Working Hours: Full-time, 1.0 FTE (contracted)

Job Summary: The Instructional Coach is responsible for supporting a culture of clarity and accountability in pedagogy and best practices, based on our mission, Core Values, and Biblical perspective.

Instructional Coaches observe, support, and provide resources for teachers while working directly with administration in executing identified priorities with the goal of increasing student engagement, improving student achievement & growth, and building teacher capacity.

General Responsibilities:

  • Support the Vision and Mission of Bellevue Christian School
  • Model a commitment to Jesus Christ and to Christian education as a profession and calling
  • Model an attitude of Christ-like servanthood, cooperation, accuracy, and accountability
  • Create positive relationships with teachers, administrators, coaches, and the community
  • Assist the Provost in leading the faculty, staff, and students in conducting a well-rounded, educational experience that is God-honoring in every dimension
  • Maintain knowledge of scripture and a positive testimony
  • Display patience, honesty, humility, a growth mindset, and emotional constancy

Specific Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Works collaboratively with administration on identified instructional or academic priorities for the campus, departments, and individual teachers
  • Plan and facilitate support, training, and professional development for individual faculty, small groups, and large group as directed by the Provost
  • Assist with curriculum planning and implementation
  • Regularly observe teachers to determine areas of opportunities and supply feedback to teachers and the Principals to inform future PD offerings.
  • Model lessons, when appropriate
  • Partner with teachers in coaching cycles focused on student learning
  • Assist in teacher and program evaluation
  • Oversee some curriculum content areas
  • In coordination with the Provost, develop and/or update academic policy and documents
  • Develop and deliver professional development in partnership with the Provost and other District Administrators
  • Collaborate with School Administrators, Librarians, and technology staff to ensure infrastructure and tools are available to carry out school initiatives
  • Facilitate the implementation of the TfT framework
  • Support teachers in designing Formational Learning Experiences.
  • Collaborate in the evaluation, selection and implementation of instructional technology materials, digital curriculum, and software
  • Regularly collaborate with the Student Academic Services (SAS) department to support differentiation
  • Research best practices that support 21st century learning skills and the BCS Portrait of a Graduate
  • Participate in ongoing professional development related to job responsibilities and maintaining expertise in the field.

Qualifications (required):

  • BA/BS from an accredited college/university
  • Minimum three years successful teaching experience;
  • Current Washington Teaching Certification

Additional Details:

  • Instructional coach must document work in a manner satisfactory to supervisor
  • Use tact and courtesy when dealing with teachers and administrators.

Work Requirements:

  • Operate a variety of equipment including computers, copiers, document cameras, and LCD Projectors
  • Work is generally performed indoors, sitting or standing in an office or classroom, with standard office or classroom furniture
  • Occasional bending as needed
  • Occasional lifting (up to 20 pounds) may be needed.
  • Reliable vehicle needed to travel between locations (between 5 – 20 miles)

Secondary Math Teacher – Long-Term Substitute

Secondary Campus | Clyde Hill, WA | Starting March 2025

Salary: $26.00/hour

Start Date: Around March 1st, 2025 through the end of school year in June 2025

Working Hours: Full-time

Responsibilities: Curriculum implementation and class management of Secondary Math Classes.

Qualifications:

  • Valid Washington State Certification (preferred)
  • Valid Teaching Certification – any state (preferred)

Staff Positions

Admissions Counselor
Central Office | Clyde Hill, WA

Salary: Between $24.21 – $29.49/hour

Working Hours: Part-Time (0.85 FTE)

Job Summary:

The Admissions Counselor will serve the Bellevue Christian School community by communicating the school mission and vision to prospective families. The Counselor will lead prospective families through the inquiry, application and acceptance or decline process. The Admissions Counselor will also manage data, prepare admissions related materials and work closely with multiple departments including academics, finance, marketing, and technology to oversee and ensure a smooth application process for all families.

Essential Functions and Responsibilities:

Interpersonal Communication

  • Be the first voice and face of BCS to new families. Project warmth and expertise in answering questions by phone, email, and in person.
  • Lead small group tours of three campuses to convey the mission, personality, and distinct opportunities at BCS as well as learning about prospective families and their unique stories.
  • Follow families throughout the admissions process from first contact to enrollment: assisting with applications, scheduling interviews, troubleshooting and advising as necessary.
  • Be a helpful liaison between campus offices (principals) and the Admissions office to ensure access to information.
  • Communicate difficult information when necessary with empathy and respect.

Sales

  • Respond to all inquiries and track data regarding interest.
  • Innovate our approach to attract new demographics of prospective families.
  • Advise on advertising materials to inform and attract new families.

Data Management

  • Learn our Information System (called Axiom) to manage all aspects of the admissions process: inquiry tracking, applications, event registration, etc.
  • Maintain confidential information.
  • Collaborate with BCS’ Finance Office through enrollment and re-enrollment process.

Event Coordination

  • Assist with Admissions events, mainly Open Houses and Viking for a Day student visit events.
  • Manage logistics of invitations, registrations, schedules, communications. hospitality, and presentation.

Experience with: MS Office Suite (particularly Excel, Word, Outlook, SharePoint), Axiom (desired but not required), Webex videoconferencing.

Skills: excellent written and verbal communication, sound judgment and wisdom, ability to manage multiple tasks, hospitality.

Qualities: fun, kind, reliable, goal-oriented, flexible, teachable, resourceful.

Preschool Assistant Director

Mack Elementary – Woodinville, WA

Job Type: Part-Time, 0.5 FTE

Salary: $24.00 – $29.50/hour, depending on experience

Reports To: Preschool Director

Job Summary: The Assistant Director will assist the Preschool Director in the planning and supervising of the Preschool program to ensure that practices are varied and developmentally appropriate and meet the WAC licensing requirements.

Essential Functions and Responsibilities:

  • Assist the Director in supporting teachers in their planning of developmentally appropriate curriculum/activities and learning centers to implement program goals and objectives.
  • Help manage and coordinate staffing schedules for the Preschool including calling substitutes when needed.
  • Assist program with maintaining all state required safety, health, and security standards.
  • Perform on-site program supervisory duties including campus tours.
  • Be able to communicate the mission and goals of BCS Preschool to a wide variety of audiences, in a wide variety of ways and show a genuine love for people (staff/faculty, children, and parents).
  • Assist the Director and teachers in facilitating special events.
  • Create purchase orders to fulfill requests for teacher resources.
  • Assist the Director in observing and mentoring staff.
  • Support staff with students who occasionally have social, emotional, behavioral, or mental health needs.
  • Partner with parents to provide the best care and education for their children.
  • Serve as a substitute as needed/appropriate.

Qualifications (required):

  • Knowledge of child development through education, experience, and on-the-job performance.
  • Maintain STARS requirements annually.
  • Maintain current certifications in CPR/First Aid/ HIV/BBP training/Food Workers Card.
  • Familiarity with WA State & DCYF licensing regulations.
  • At least 2 years of hands-on teaching experience with preschool.
  • Minimum of 25 ECE Credits at the time of hire and the expectation to maintain an ECE state certificate (47 credits or equivalent) within 5 years of the time of hire. Education must be verified in the electronic workforce registry (MERIT).
  • Complete the applicable preservice requirements as required by DCYF.

Qualifications (desired):

  • Proficiency at Microsoft Office Suite or capacity to learn.
  • Capacity to learn Veracross, the school’s information management software.
  • Prior experience in a leadership or administrative role.

Work Requirements:

  • Ability to stand and walk for several hours at a time is required.
  • May be outside in various weather (including cold/damp weather)

Bus Driver

District-wide | Designated Bus Routes

Shifts can start in Renton, Woodinville or Bellevue!

Salary: $30.00 – $35.00 per hour

Working Hours: 6 hours/day guaranteed during school year, job share/part-time will be considered

Responsibilities:

  • This person is responsible for driving a designated regular school bus route daily.
  • Additional hours for athletic and special activities may be available.
  • Six hours/day guaranteed during school days.
  • Will consider job-share if candidate is interested in a 2-3 day/week schedule

Requirements:

  • Must be at least 21 years of age
  • CDL type B driver’s license with airbrakes and school bus ‘P’ & ‘S’ endorsement
  • At least 3 years of experience as a licensed driver of a passenger vehicle
  • Satisfactorily completed a school bus training course administered by an authorized school bus instructor.
  • Demonstrated Christian commitment and relationship with Jesus Christ and being active in a local church.
  • Certified in CPR/First Aid (BCS can train upon hire)
  • Background check includes: fingerprinting and FBI background check.

Substitute Teaching

All Campuses | Ongoing

Salary: $73.50 for 1-3 hours/day; $147.00 for all day

Working Hours: School Hours – will vary according to assignment

Responsibilities: Implement curriculum; class management of self-contained classroom

Requirements:

  • Current OSPI fingerprint/background clearance (BCS will facilitate)
  • In agreement with BCS doctrinal statement.
