The Jazz Band is an audition-based OR teacher recommendation group of musicians who wish to expand and improve their musical experience. This ensemble consists of alto, tenor, and baritone saxophones, trumpets, trombones, guitar, bass, piano, drum set, and auxiliary percussion.
- Auditions held in the first week of school. Rehearsals are on Monday, Wednesday, and Friday during zero period
- Four evening concerts in October, December, March or April, and June, plus participation in Solo and Ensemble
- Required Outside of Class Workload: weekly practice time 150 minutes per week; mandatory attendance at all concerts and festivals
- Additional Class Expenses: Instrument, accessories and maintenance, concert uniform consisting of black pants or long skirt and black shirt, black shoes
