Description

We live near one of the largest estuaries in the world. Wish you knew more about it? Wish you knew what an estuary is? Marine Science is all about the geology, water, and animals of the salt-water ecosystems of the Pacific Northwest. See a variety of marine creatures, study the impact of pollution on our oceans and estuaries, and collaborate on a variety of projects as you do.

  • Create and maintain aquarium systems of plants and fish
  • Never look at a drain on the street or a piling or a tidepool the same way
  • Take field trips to places like tide flats, aquariums, and wastewater treatment plants
  • Study some of God’s most unique creatures by dissecting some forms of marine life
  • Collaborate with your peers and productively contribute to conversations about touchy subjects
  • Homework is generally less than 30 minutes per class day
